Default Trans go install????

Ok, I have searched and read about the trans go kit, billet servo, and acc piston. Question I have is, should I have someone install it(what would be an avg price to do this?) or is it a feat that a normal person could accomplish?
I have swapped clucthes, but I have never messed with an AT, let alone seen one work on before. Do I need a tune before I get it done or can I wait for the tune.

I got the Transg, vette servo, and tranny cooler, new filter, and fluids for $266.00 and that was at the same place that is transmissioncenter.net they are local for me. I was also quoted over $400 by 2 other people but the place I got the Transgo at (Jag Performance) who is a respected place said they would have charged about $225. They are in San Antonio! To me it was way to much stuff to try to do onmy own but I dont knwo your skills. As far as the pcm adjustments if your line pressure isnt stock(if you already have a tune/programmer it proably isnt) you need to put it back to stock and getting the Transgo also gives you/ your tuner the ability to remove all or most of your torque management without the wear it would normally have on your tranny. Just make sure your tranny line pressure is were it was stock and it will drive right. The removal of Torque management is just a benefit you get with the Transgo kit!

So with the kit in, when I get a tune make sure it is stock line pressure, correct. Just making sure I understood you correctly. Overall how much difference is it with the TM gone? I was thinking of doing 80% out.

Ok before I had the Transgo I had 60%TM removed and it was a hell of alot better than stock then I got the Transgo mainly to make it safer to remove more TM. When I got the Transgo I had Nelson remove all the TM and since before he inscreased my line pressure for firmer shifts when I didnt have the Transgo I had him back the line pressure back down to stock(as recommended) and I could tell a big difference between 60% removed and 100% removed. So 80% is gonna be really nice and still have a little extra tranny band-aid in there. The thing is ive read where people got the Transgo with the stock PCM and they couldnt figure out why there truck was driving/shifting like *** untill someone told them. If I were you Id get the tune before you do the shift kit or install the new tune right after the install like right after you pick it up! The Transgo was a cool mod for me!

It's a full day's work if you do it yourself. The hardest part for me was taking the stock pan off. Had to unbolt the exhaust and crossmember. After that it was just following directions step by step. There is a shifter linkage bracket in the way that keeps the pan from dropping straight down. I have 4wd, so there is a driveshaft keeping me from getting to the torx screws holding the bracket on.

I think I am going to find a good shop to do mine. Allen knows the right line pressure to put it at right? I am sure he does but doesn't hurt to ask.....
With 80% gone, do you think I will still have decent traction?

Yeah just tell Allen that your doing the Transgo and he will know what to do. As far as traction look at my mods in sig and traction isnt a problem at all on the street. I can smoek the tires but I really hav to try!!! At the track I can stall as much as I can untill the tires start to spin and dont have traction problems and that was even on stock tires but now with the Indy 500's traction isnt ever a problem. Dont worry about the traction is what im saying not yet at least!
