tranny pros

I had my tranny rebuilt at 40k. My shifting since I put the vetter servo is harsh because of the t.m. Do you think that some of it might be that the valve body is set wrong causing odd shifting?

when i drive in 3rd a while and then put it into OD it takes it like 10 seconds sometimes to shift. I have to give it some gas to make it shift sometimes. first to second lags sometimes. Its not slipping it just isnt shifting right to me. when i drive it normal it is fine

Mine does the OD thing too. I vaguely remember reading a complaint about it, but can't recall the fix. I thought it was a temp thing but found the ECM should show a tranny temp message if it goes into the "save the tranny" mode. Instead of shifting into 4th it will pull in 3rd and freewheel if I let off. It only does it once in a while and does not set any codes.

Red2k - My trans. does something similiar if I give it enough gas to drop down a gear it will stay in the gear for a while(10-15 seconds) even after I let off. Then it will finally shift into OD. I've never had that problem with any other vehicle that had a 4L60E in it. I don't think it's the trans. I think it has something to do with the programming. What, I don't know. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

Mine does what XLR8NSS described, so it must be normal. Is that the same thing that you are talking about Red2k? Also what's up with the transmission shifting even when I put it in 1st. That is annoying as hell, when trying to "backrack" the exhaust (or whatever it is called.)

i don't know much about these trannys but isn't the vette survo just for the 1-2shift?
geting rid of TM should firm up your shifts even more, full power instead of ruduced power would give a harder shift i would think.
