tranny goes BOOM!!!!! 9psi and a 100shot

yea, thats right the motor just won't die but tranny number 3 let out a big boom 1/2 way thru 1st gear, now i have no 4th(funny ziping whirling sound) no 3rd till i am moving, 1st sounds like i have spokes with playing cards in them and if i put the selector in 2nd it actualy starts out in 2nd.
i was ready to push that motor till it died and give it a nice rebuild but i don't really feel like messing with the tranny, it is a big job that i have done twice all ready and i don't really know what to do with it, i will call flp and see what they think.
i know some of you guys have thought about the whole tranny issue, what did you come up with? 4l80e? turbo 400? something else?
might have a video with sound when it broke, i still need to check that out.

It's too late and I can't think so I'm not going to say anything about transmissions right now. Anyone you go with will require some fabrication though it seems. Definately gonna need a 80E or a 400 though with the power your putting out.

i forgot to tell you all about the lucky part of the night, i was testing the nitrous a little eailer in the night, did a u turn in front of some cars and hammered it for a few seconds while loging(9psi and a 100shot), there was a cop just a couple cars back. i bet i was going 100mph. he pulled me over and gave me a ticket for "impeading traffic" $10+court cost. said they had to slow down when i did the uturn and that i should find a better place to tune my truck. now that was lucky.

Yea, the 200-4r may hold up. The Grand Nationals dip into the 10s all the time with those trannys. They weigh alot less though, and dont have the near 550rwhp (with 100 shot) that you have, but with some beefing up who knows.

I sent XLR8NSS some measurements from my 4L80E in the 1500HD. You need to see if you can fit one of those in the beast. I'll forward it to you.

I was considering a 4L80E for my Tahoe but the PCM won't recognise that transmission's different controls.You would probably need to run a different PCM or manually shift the transmission.The closer gear spacing is real attractive,but to optimize their performance you would want a lower axle ratio.If you are serious about going faster you might consider going with a manually shifted 4L80E with a aftermarket floor shifter.That way you could run your current PCM.It was to big a inconvienence to me to manually shift my daily driver and to much trouble to change the PCM and wiring harness.

Just kidding. Sorry to hear about that though. That's awesome that you just got a ticket for the u-turn! He probably has a Silverado in his driveway and was immpressed. 
On a side note, is anybody else having problems playing Parish8's *.wmv's? I get the sound but the video doesn't play or only moves a couple of frames.

99 ext cab LT 4x4 with 6.0, yank3000, ls1edit, whipple, NX kit, ASM headers with 3 duel exhaust, 50lb @ 43.5psi injectors, aux inline fuel pump, flex282 fan, flp tranny, eaton, weight reduction.

A TCI transmission computer might be a good way to go if your going to be using a 4l80e.
