If they are on the magnet, trust me, they will not come off. The "filter" is really only a screen. It doesn't always trap contaminates. But the build up on them is broken down with the chemicals used in the flush. AT 46k, I would go ahead and do it. Can't hurt if it is done right.

If you trust your dealer. Mine was not under warranty and warranty doesn't cover it anyway. Few things to make sure of:
1. The type of chemicals that are used are not damaging to the internals.
2. Use tranny pump, not an external pump. Those can overpressure if not set right.
3. how much experience your shop has.
4. Have they ever had returns for new problems after they did the service.

I work at a GMC/OLDS dealer and we have had some problems with the trans flush machine picking up debris from the bottom of the pan and having it get stuck in the pressure contol solenoid and valve body. If you do have your trans flushed, be sure and change the filter and clean out the pan BEFORE the flush. Not all debris sticks to the magnet(clutch material).
