Mee too also do they just swap out, or do you have to mod it?

I hear it's a direct swap.

The part# that I've seen around here is 24228709. This is for a reman unit from the dealer. It's actually the torque converter for an I6 TrailBlazer, but when bolted up behind one of our engines, it usually stalls around 2600, so I've heard.

It does stall very close to 2600. I can brake stall mine to 2300 before the tires break loose. My dads SSS has a yank tt3000 and I like mine better because mine seemed to sacrifice very little drivability. BTW, mine is the reman unit.

The number of mine is #24228708, but that was a year ago and they like to change numbers. Behind my 6.0L it stalls to 2600-2700 rpm, and I think it stalls to around 2400 rpm with a 5.3L.

That might be just right for my set-up...I went to TCI's website and they have a verter selector where you fill out a form listing your engine, gears, mods, intentions, etc., and they recommend a stall to you. They recommended a Truck Saturday Night Special for me....2200-2400, which I thought was about right. Those trailblazer numbers don't seem that far off, maybe a little looser...man, so many choices. I wish that there was a machine that you just fill out a card with your list of mods and all, insert the card in the machine, and it spits out the name of the perfect converter for your setup.

With your mods and the size of your cam I think you would be very happy with this TC. The doesn't hurt either, I think they are $178 on gmpartsdirect.com. This is the right number for the reman unit: 24228709
