The wife wants a traiblazer. I know they make them with the 5.3, but she doesn't want the extended. What do you all think about them? Does anyone make any aftermarket performance stuff for them?

the 05's should be available shortly with the 5.3 in the standard model. other than that, i like them. if you get the 4.2, go with the 4.10 gear.

You can get the Buick version. It only comes short with the V8. The I6 is a very impresive engin however.

You could probably slap on a Whipple for what you would save by getting the 4.2 inline. Whipple did one for SEMA that was bad ***.

any known issues?

Gas mileage is an issue, so I don't think I would go with the 4.10. A 3.73 with posi traction would be a good addition in my book. I'm going to try and bump up the mileage to 22-23. Does Allen or MTI tune these?

Yeah The 4.2L Is An Impressive Engine With The 275Hp My Wife Has One And Its Pretty Good. It Can Hold Off My Silverado SS Until About 45-50, And This Weenend I Was On Main Street And There Was This 1998 5.7L V8 Silverado And I Held Him Off Till ABout 60 Or 65, And I Still Was Ahead Alittle Then, But It Just Coukldnt Match The V8 CI. Other Than That The 4.2L IS A GREAT ENGINE ANd Powerful. Try The Buick Rainier Or The Gmc Envoy Denali (Coming Spring 05). They Will Both Be Regular Cab's With 5.3L Engines. . .Im Thinkin There Gonna 6.0L The Gmc Enoy Denali With 325Hp (Since All Other Denalis In The Lineup Are Standard With One). That Would Be The One To Get.

That would be the ultimate sleeper. An Envoy or TrailBlazer with a 408. Anyone else seeing this?

Maybe dropped slightly .. 12 second SUV on all motor.

That Would Be The Right Sleeper For Anything Even Some Sports Cars. But Id Really Want The Trailblazer To Come With An 6.0L. And According To Chevrolet In 2006 There Will Be An SS Trailblazer, Tahoe With THe 6.0L Engine. WIth 365Hp To Compete With The Dodge HEMI Durango. Now Thats Sweet Also.
