I agree, the LQ9 really likes a few mods. Give it some break in miles and it will feel better. My SS wasn't fast, but I could definitely feel the increased torque over my 5.3. After a few hundred miles it woke up.
Unless he's going to wait a while for the other mods. Driving 10,000 miles on a stock tune would suck if he could be driving those same 10,000 miles on a Nelson tune. Then if he gets mods later, I believe Allen will update it for free, or with a minimal charge.

Yeah, LQ9's seem tight from the factory. Not like my older 5.3.

What kind of thruck is this? I've never heard of it.

Great buy 03red. Did you keep any performance stuff from the other truck?
Thats dependant on alot of things.
1. finding a good complete 6.0 with heads and low miles
2. the mechanical ability to do a swap yourself.
3. the mechanical ability to fix and troubleshoot any unforeseen complications since you definately wont have a warranty

None of which I have.
Looks like you got a good buy. If I could get that setup in a Tahoe I would trade. Thats just me though and like I said I have near zero mechnical ability.
Of course I would need the LQ4 for my setup which I will be posting times for in the next few weeks hopefully Im expecting a decent spot on the fastest truck list if my tranny holds up to a couple of runs.

I agree;
I have the ability to do the swap myself but would rather not. I've grown to hate working on my own car. I went from building motors to getting my oil changed for me. I wouldn't mind the swap, but the complications would suck..

(you think they would notice if i swapped in an LS6 cam and a 5.3 rotating assembly )
