hey Jim, if that thing has a tack signal you could do your fueling adjustments with megasquirt. i have no idea what people are working on for those things but it is likly the mega is easier to use tha nwhatever they do come out with. tuning is sooooo much easier for me now than it was with edit.

i can't wait to get the timing hooked up. i dred timing changes now haveing to use edit.

Hey Parish, what is Megasquirt? I'm not into heavy modding, usually do the bolt on stuff but if I can get a better tune and can get rid of the TM, I may try. You guys think the TM on GM's is bad, ****, it's horrible on the Hemi engine.

sorry to get so far off topic.

the mega is a basic pcm, it can be a stand alone or run along side of the stock pcm. it monitors some basic sensors and controls the fuel injectors. it can also take over timing but would require you to fab up some kind of crank trigger for that to work. no tranny control at all right now. the main potential problem is what will the stock pcm do if it doesn't see the fuel injectors or stock coils. just doing fueling i think you could wire in some resistors to fool the pcm into not noticing the missing injectors but taking over the timing control would likly cause some unknown effects. on a stick ram(not hemi), it would be prety easy to set up but with an auto those unknown effects could cause tranny problems.

Hey Parish,

Are you supplying fuel in a linear curve? and what are your variables? I think the mega squirt would be a cool retrofit on an older engine.

As far as fooling the injectors by installing a resistor: I think it would work easily unless the PCM measures a set voltage drop rather than just any voltage drop. I imagine a 1k resistor would do it, but I wouldn't know.

reaction time is based on the light bulbs the track is using.
standard bulbs is a .500 because there is a 1/2 second, or .500 between full on to full on.
there is 3 parts to a regular bulb, just coming on, full on, and going off.

with the new rules tracks are switching over to LED bulbs in the trees which there is just an on and off, no in between. thats why its .000 is perfect

i'd look into getting a higher stall converter and a shift kit... between the 2 if traction is there you'll gain about .4...

with sticky tires and a stall there is a lot more than .4 there, i could see .4+ on her 60' alone. my et drop is always right at 1.5x my 60' drop so even if she just got .4 off her 60' she would likly be .6 quicker. a stall makes a huge diference in these things IF you can hook.
