well, you may have a wire broke inside the insulation, have you check the voltage of the wires going to the tps? the t/b spacer should not cause anything, but you never know.

ya... ive checked that and the signal wire to the pcm... im stumped on the next step, i'll see what my guys at aamco have to say next. They checked the problem for me and ended up doing it for me and now that it came back, they are going to try to fix it for no extra charge, of course, since what they did didnt solve the problem. So hopefully they will come up with the solution before i have to take it to the dealership.

but i'll def check if the intake is set right at .06, thx.

Ah ha! (theme song from Rocky: Eye of the Tiger playing in the background)... I did it! Figured it out, lol. Its not a big deal, i just finally had an hour to sit down with it. My problem stems from the bump stop mod.. and for anyone who isnt quite sure what their doing with this.. DONT DO IT. The voltage read two diff readings on the tps at wot and at idle... so the tb blade must have been right at 90* which isnt ideal for programming.. put on a new tb and bam bitches.. works like a charm.. finally glad i got that fixed. I was about tired of shifting on the column constantly.

Also talked to Jesse Bubb and tried to figure out why his tune wasnt letting the transmission shift correctly. He explained to me that his tunes are tps reliant and dont use much of the programming from the maf.. so since i had the tps code, everything was thrown out of wack. Sorry Jesse for putting you through all of that (sending it back and forth), I def owe ya one. If your ever in Buford, GA i'll buy you lunch AND dinner, lol.

Just wanted to let you all know i got it figured out incase someone else tries the bump stop mod thing. Thx for everyone's help.

Sorry for the question but what is the BUMP STOP mod? I have never heard of it before. What does it do and how is it done. After reading this thread im not gonna do it because with my luck, ill have serious problems. Just curious as to what it is.

On your throttle body.. when you have the cable pulling the butterfly all the way open there is a "bump stop". Its the point at which the bracket hits a piece of metal and it stops the butterfly from opening up anymore. Well if you hold a stock tb in your hand and hold the bracket at wot, you'll see that the butterfly isnt exactly at 90*. its like at 85* or so. Anyway, if you grind back the bump stop... the butterly can open up a litte more. I apparently, grinded it back a little too far so the butterfly was open at about 90* or more and it was tripping the tps sensor.. if its done correctly idk if there is much of a diffence as far as induction, but its probably better to figure out first where you can grind it off to, hope this helps.

My 5.3 was throwing this code too, and wouldnt learn idle. I figured the problem was more the IAC, but I just swapped motors instead. BTW, I did the bump stop mod, and didnt have a problem for about 6 mos or longer.
