Default Torque Monster

If u were wanting to build a Reliable Torque monster 350/383 Vortech motor that got decent decent economy. What would you do with it?? Motor that is being built is a 97 vortech 350. If yall have any links to the cam and all that u suggest could you please post them so that i can do a little reading?

I built a Vortec based engine for a friends mud truck several years ago. Used a cast stroker crank (Scat if I remember right), GM rods with ARP bolts, and speed pro coated cast pistons. Had the heads checked and left alone except for screw in studs, picked up the smallest Comp Cams Xtreme 4x4 cam with the roller tip steel rockers and put it all under a TPI system from a 92 fbody. Went in a 77 3/4 Longbed with a 4 speed manual and 38" tires and worked great off road, wasn't a dog even before he swapped out the stock gears.

Great thing about the Vortec SBCs are the factory roller cam and the upgraded internals vs. the 80s crap. Watch out for pressed in rocker studs if you put any lift in the valve train and I don't think the geometry on the heads will take more than .500" lift in stock form. Good luck with the build.
