Which Torque Converter with a Whipple?
#1
Which one do you think will be the best, the Yank 2600, 3000, or the 3200 stall? I looked on Whipples webpage, and it says that it makes peek torque at 3100rpm. Any suggestions? Thanks, Kent.

I'm not sure on the stall you need. but how do you like the whipple charger? I looked at your numbers at the track very nice, but is the power & tourqe curve good in the street everyday? Nice truck by the way..

Since Whipples have instant boost, and are based on throttle position, this gives tons of power down low. I can go up a very steep hill while my truck is in OD, and it will never down shift to 3rd, and it will go from 40 to 70 up hill with no trouble at all. Kent.

i have the yank 3000, it is easy to get used to and tows fine, not sure if it is the quickest choice or not, i went thru the same delema as you are when i was ordering and no one could tell me which one is best. i can tell you with a 2wd you will have a serious traction problem, i can blow both my 265/70's off at will, up to 30mph or so. if i see a race coming up i hit the 4wd button.
when you get on the gas some(1/4 to 3/4 throttle) the rpm's go right to 3000-3200 and hold there untill the mph catches up, it seems a litte wierd to have the truck accelerating but the rpm's staying the same.
