Don't bother putting a new chain on unless you put a decent one on.

I used the ls2 hd chain. I figured since I was already in there at 55,000 miles.

The LS2 chain isn't any better than your stocker. It's just as sloppy. If you're going to get a new chain, get it as a matched set with NEW SPROCKETS and get a decent brand as well. Like a ProGear.

It's not so bad changing the chains and sprockets out. you need to drop the pan though to get at the oil pump pickup tube. Just time consuming that's all.

You don't need a double roller, you just need A NICE accurate matched set if you're going to go through the hassle of changing chains. The LS2 chain upgrade is a waste IMO.
