Wasn't planning on forged anything. I was just going to have the rotating assembly balanced and that's it. I know the heads is where the money will go. Was thinking 180-200cc for those. Smallish chamber like 62cc to bump compression. This isn't a race truck but I do want a solid power band and a solid 450-475hp/tq.

Good. You don't need help as you seem to have it figured for a decent setup. And no I don't mean that in an incriminating way either.

vortec heads and a lt1 camshaft. If you can get the Vortecs for higher lift go with either a lt4 cam or the hot cam

I am very happy with the 383 in my Express van.

Currently...
11:1 static compression
Scat 3.75" crank
6" H-Beam rods
Weisco 4.030" flat tops with 2 valve reliefs (5cc dish)
Rotating assembly is balanced
Quench is 0.041", piston is 0.013" down the bore and a 0.028" compressed head gasket.
Amazon 200cc Assault Racing castings ported by Lloyd Elliot
Have good 2.02/1.60 valves with a 5 angle valve job
Flow 274 @ 0.500 and 291 @ 0.600
Dual springs with 150# seat and 375# open
Comp Hyd Roller 218/228 @ 0.050, 0.578 lift, 108 LSA, 104 ICL
Lift figure is with 1.7 Scorpion roller rockers, narrow body, non self aligning.
Guide plates and hardened thick wall pushrods.
GMPP Single Roller timing setup for a OE roller engine (ZZ4 set)
Rhoads V-Max lifters adjusted cold 0.014" from bottom of travel
Thorley Tri-Y headers into factory dual 3" piping
High flow 3" cats
Dual 3" in/single 4" out muffler with a 4" tailpipe
Ported L31 truck manifold with a 48 lb/hr spider
Has a Fluidamper cut down for the Vortec reluctor
Holley Aluminum timing cover
Flowkooler water pump
March Pulleys with 25% underdrive crank pulley
200 amp Napa AD-244 alternator
34x19" dual core aluminum radiator with matching shroud
16" Flexalite Flexwave 3,000 cfm electric fans with PCM controlled dual speeds via GM 3-relay setup.
Davis Unified Ignition Coil and Module
MSD Cap and Rotor
Taylor Thundervolt wires
AC Delco 0.750" reach, washer seat, 42 heat range plugs
Stock 02 Van air box with a K&N filter
4" silicone intake hoses to for a custom air intake.

That is the smog "legal" setup, makes about 500 hp and matching torque. Idles and drives like stock until you get on it.

Ran the same setup with a Lunati Bootlegger 232/244 and a Mercruiser MPFI dual plane intake with a 1,000 cfm 4bbl TB. Made about 550 hp @ 5,700 and 530 tq @ 3,800.

Current setup cranks at 220 psi and runs on pump gas. With a 2,800 rpm stall converter in the 4L85E and a 5.13 gear it sets you back in the seat even in a 6,500 lbs van.

Forgot about this thread. Ordered a scat 383 assembly with -5cc pistons. Brodix ik aluminum heads with 180cc runners and 70cc chambers and a howards cam with 560ish lift and a 112lsa. Should be about 10.1:1 compression and make solid power from about 2000-6500. Going to throw an 11” converter with around a 2500rpm stall. Also got a Holley fuel injection intake and am starting to piece together the parts for a Holley Terminator X. All that coupled with the 4.88’s and this truck should be a blast.

I just read that Lamborghini dyno thing this morning, very good laugh. Fake news is so much better than the real deal.

Ol boy Fast355 looooooooooves to brag about his stupid van

But he also loves to forge dyno graphs and post them as his own "builds" and he's been called out on it on several forums. You can google his user name for a good laugh. He might know a thing or 2 and I'll give him credit for that, but he has quite the reputation
