throttle body compatability question

What's the difference between and electronic TB vs. a drive by wire? What steps are required to adapt an electronic to an '05 silerado w/ 5.3?
Thanks

I thought the 05's had dbw tb's. Didn't that start in 04?
If you looking to convert your 05 to dbc (drive-by-cable), you would have to get the tb/iac, linkage, pedal, and do some rewiring to the pcm. Then you might have to convert to an older pcm as I'm not sure the later ones have the internal hardware to do such a thing. I looked into it a while back and could not find a whole lot of info, and with the advancements being made by torque rush, I could hardly justify it. I'm sticking with DBW for now.

The reason for my question is that I was looking to purchase an intake with an electronic TB and was told by the seller that electronic and DBW were not the same. Is this true?
