it might be stupid but, i have been thinking.you could make some big power with a 6-71 on a new lsx base engine.i have been looking at this 8-71 sitting out on the bench an thinking on how hard it would be to fab up a manifold for this to fit.what is everyones thoughts on this.

What kind of intake would you build? A sheet metal one.....that would be fun!!!. 8-71's are old school though and aren't they know for being pretty inefficient. Since you're making the intake, you could also stick a water to air IC in there. Plus you don't always have to mount it on the intake (i.e. whipple or side mount magna). Let us know man, either way it would be better than stock, and those things sound sooooooo awesome!!

well if i do this i am going to use the help of my pops.i am thinking of just makin one out of a solid chunk of aluminum.so maybe after the new year it could get done.as far as fuel inj i will have to see when i get to that stage.i was just out lookin under the hood and i don't think a 6-71 will clear the cowl.so i am going to call the blower shop cause they make a smaller shorter one,get the diamentions of it.i know one thing this is going to take an *** load of fabing. It can be done.

There are other supercharger 'kits' available for the LS1 engines out. You might crunch some numbers before fabbing to see if it is worth it. But an 8-71 would be fun
