Default Thorleys or Yank sc3000

Ok, I need help making a decision. I'm either buying a Yank sc3000 stall from a dude on here OR i'm buying a set of Thorley headers. Which is more important? They are both about the same price before install charges.

anyone know what it will probably cost to get the stall installed?

Converter!!

The SC is made for FI applications though isn't it? If so won't it have a really low STR?

You've got that backwards it's got a higher 2.4 STR and hits really hard with only a 3000 stall,built to handle higher horsepower levels without the stall going crazy.

Weird because all of the Yank car converters that were made for FI used a 1.65 or so STR where as the max N/A converters were 2.5-3.0. Weird that is is different now. Thanks for the correction. Looks like updated the website also.

I don't know what str means. can someone explain. Also, this is going on a FI truck. good choice?

It's the maxamum amount of torque multiplacation offered as a ratio by the torque converter.

get the convertor..... those headers don't even come close to a stall vertor when it comes to track times... just a whole different ballpark

i'm told this converter will still give me good drivability. any comments on that? I'm concerned about exactly how the truck is gonna feel.

It will feel a little wierd the first few times you drive it. Once you get a little used to it though, youll love how much more powerful the truck feels off the line.
