I love my Thorleys. They could be considered long tube, although they are truly unique in that Try-Y's are tuned for broad band torque. Look at my web page (shown in my profile) to see detailed pictures on the Thorleys. By the way, I've had them installed for about 90 days now with no problems.

I will try to get some pics. They go all the way down to the cats. I like 'em so far.

Here's the link to my pictures. I just couldn't remember the link to the website when I sent the response before http://community.webshots.com/user/sbryant2100.

So I am asuming you have a none stock y pipe. I just ordered a set from summit today $429, I hope mine with line up ok, I don't want to take it to an exhaust shop if I don't have to, and its like a 30 min drive to an exhaust shop.

I think I may have a problem. Driver's side header is rubbing the steering shaft, the part of it that is accordian looking. rattles really bad on acceleeration. I think I may have a messed up motor mount but I really don't know how to tell, has anyone else had this problem or have a fix for it?

I'll take a closer look at my headers in the day light tomorrow. I'll also take a digital picture of the clearance between the steering wheel shaft and the header. I don't recall any clearance problems except for some of the heat shield area between the firewall and the exhaust which I had to bend a little.

Hey that would be great. I have like 1/8 to 0 clearance with the engine off and turning the wheel from stop to stop.

I finally got a custom steering shaft coming on monday afternoon. Found a scrap one, cut the ends off, and a buddy of mine is going to make a 3/4 dia. peice to go in the middle where the corrugations used to be. Should give me about 1/2" clearance. Have not had the heart to open her up yet because it rattles so bad, but I can't wait. So far no codes with the chrome headers, I guess the chrome is enough of a thermal barrier like thorley's website says.

Exhaust and brakes are 2 things I absolutely hate doing. Exhaust is just a pain, changing brake pads don't bother me, but if it envolves brake fluid, I hate it. I hate the way break fluid gets on your hands and won't come off and then gets on everything you touhc ... aggervating as hell to me.

yes, I too refuse to work on brakes. I've had two near death experiences with them on a buddy's car and will pay for someone to do them.
