k..so as some of you guys know, my pewter 02 silvy was totalled about two and half weeks ago
and i had the motor in for about 1 month to be exact...
and for those of you who dont know about it here's the thread..
https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=417891
well, i bought another truck. a 2002 silvy, indigo blue with a 4.8 though...
now, i was thinking about modding this 4.8 until i can afford another motor to build on.
so my question would this set up be good for the 4.8?? or is the cam a little much?
220/220 .581/581 112LSA
Pacesetter LT's w/ORY
Dual Springs
LS6 P&P oil pump
LS2 Timing Chain and Gears
P&P TB
exactly what i had in the 5.3 i built. i loved that cam, it had great power all around
any suggestions?

did you get your other truck back? how much was the buy back? if you don't mind me askin'.
as far as the cam....I think blackgmc is doing one close to it, not as much lift and LSA. Should be ok with a tt3000

no i didnt get the truck back or anything off of it. they paid off what i owed on the truck. asked about getting the motor back but said they wouldnt have enough to pay off the truck if they did that. so, i let it go. im gonna call the claims adjuster on monday and get some more information from him. the truck is still at the insurance company so im gonna try and get that motor one way or another. if not...then im starting all over. there was nothing wrong with the motor. it started right up after i wrecked.
and ya i forgot about the stall. ill be putting that stall back in with a better tranny as well. the one in the truck now seems to be actin up a bit

I thought that If you total a car you can have the option to get it back. even if its on a note. thats the beautiful thing about full coverage. Ask the insurance people about buying/ getting the whole truck back, salvage everything you can and sell the rest.

I would cut ur loses and build up ur 4.8. Despite being "small" they can still make great power with the right combinations. I think ur cam will give u good power and even better with a converter. Despite my truck hasn't ever really ran to the potential I know it has I know I can make desent numbers with a lot more tweaking. But unless u can get that 5.3 back just build her up. Good luck with everything
