Default TBSS/NNBS Intake Manifold Swap and Catch Can

I'm waiting on a few more parts to come in and then I'm going to do this swap on my '05. I know the PVC hoses get relocated on the new manifold, but I've read I'll need to plum into my intake tube for the fresh air side. Do I need a 3 port catch can for this mod, or is a 2 port fine? Also, any recommendations on a solid catch can around $100 or less? Thanks in advance!

There are decent catch cans under $100 but we can't post links to non sponsors and I don't know if any of the sponsors sell one under $100

And no you don't need a 3 port.

Your catch can goes inline in ONE of the PCV lines. It goes inline in between the hose that comes out of the valve cover and into the intake manifold. That's one line.

The other line goes from the other valve cover to a fresh/filtered air source. On some LS's that air source is a little nipple on the throttle body, others it is the nipple on the intake tube.

Where does it say we can't link to "non sponsoring" sites?

Heres a pretty solid, brand name offering for ~$120:

This is an Internet Brands Forum, and according to the Internet Brands TOU:

https://www.internetbrands.com/ibterms/

The way I read this is that we aren't allowed to post unsolicited links, but the OP specifically asked about catch cans, therefore it wasn't unsolicited. I don't know which rule is the lead here. In the legal world, you follow the "tighter" guideline. I don't know what the answer is here, but it seems like there are 2 paths to follow and either one is correct. I'll keep linking and tagging until I am told not to

I appreciate it. I ended up buying a really nice UPR one on ebay. it was $220 on their website and I snagged it for $130 brand new, sold by their ebay account haha! Now to determine if a second one will be worth it or not...

I've watched moderators of performance trucks and LS1tech pull and delete and warn about non sponsor links for almost 13 years, so I figure it's a rule.

It's there to protect sponsors that pay for this site to operate so it applies to any non sponsor link, solicited or not.

Following it is up to you, i've posted some without issue, and some with issue. It's really a matter of if it's seen or not by a mod.

The older I get the more I stick to it out of respect for the sponsors

You need the early TBSS intake part number 12580420 that are on the 2008 and earlier TBSS trucks. TBSS 2009+ intakes do not have a PVC nipple and the MAP sensor mount type and sensor hole size is different and will need some adapting.
