What exactly would it do if you took it out? With no throttle applied the pcm would see like a 10% throttle angle but without the butterfly it would be getting max air. Really lean? Would it even run?

Yes I know DONT DO IT, I dont plan on it but when the question was posted I started thinking about what the engines response would be. My first thought was it would go WO however the pcm wouldnt be adding the required fuel. Would it increase in rpm until it was so lean that the engine started setting codes/ enter into limp mode? Just curious.... I dont want to find out.

Wait, with the blade removed it would get max air. Would the pcm automatically increase fuel flow based on what it was seeing from the MAF? HELP now I want to know just to ease my mind. If this was the case then instantanious WO.

you are correct...more than likely it would not even start...its just a big vacume leak.....but why find out!

I was told that you take the screws out, remove the flange, and fill the screw holes back in. At higher RPMS was where it helped since flow is improved under WOT, that is how I understood it before this thread..

no it wont run it will pop and back fire just take the tb off and leave the tps and iac connected and see whats happens
