Default TB bypass?

I know there is a hose that goes from the radiator to the tb and to something else (dunno what)..what does it go to after that? the block?

Now I'm doing a v6 -> v8 swap and my radiator doesn't have the outlet to go from the radiator to tb.

SO would it be ok if I just completly blocked off the part where the hose goes to the block? Will there be any problems with that?

Many people do that as a freemod

Ive done it one mine since I live in cali and the only reason you would need the coolant to run to the TB is for really cold mornings where the TB might be stuck

but the bypass still has coolant going from the radiator to the block right?

what if i remove this completely, will that cause a problem?

i have never seen anyone ask that question. i think most people that do it just plug an inline connecter to it and call it a day.

that's because my v6 radiator doesn't have the outlet for coolant to go to the tb. so I didn't want to buy a new radiator (for when I swap in the v8) if it wasn't necessary to have that line running coolant to tb then to the block.

The line that goes through the TB is an important line. I forget what it does, something to do with keeping the coolant flow even. It's ok to bypass the TB, but if you block off the line alltogether, you run some overheating risk. You should do a search to figure out exactly why, but I know you need that line.

What sized connector piece are you guys using?

I tried pulling a three-eight's-ish OD brass nipple off an old Quadrajet... but it was too short for my liking. (...don't !!!!)

Considered using an Olds pushrod, but it's OD was slightly too small.

I couldn't scrounge up any better materials.

The line in question runs underneath and kind of behind the TB and connects to some hard lines that go to the heads. I believe it's called water/coolant crossover. There's one port on each end (front and rear) of the heads. If you ever pull your intake, you can see them plain as day.

Mine is something like a 1/4" or so brass line coupler. I got it at Advanced Auto, but it was a while ago. Sorry I can't help out anymore.
