Taylor Plug Wires are in!
#1
Well they came in the mail yeseterday and didn't install them with the NGK plugs as I went to see the new Matrix movie so I waited until today.
Took me a while to get them all installed as I lost a plug!
Damn thing fell behind the manifold's heatshield so I had to take that heatshield off, then it slipped from there to between the motor mount and front diff!!!
Sooooo when I got it back finished the install of the plugs. Threw on anti-seize and torqued to 10ft-lbs.
Wires when on easily with no trouble at all. Squirted out some dielectric on the terminals and on they went. Mmmmm red wires are purdy...
But I recommend the Taylor wires fo' sho' now. I got them pretty cheap at S&S Performace too.

notice any performance difference? i bought taylor thundervolts. they are still in the box. probably get around to them this weekend. i was going to switch the plugs out at the same time, but autozone was out of stock. good thing though, because those denso iridiums would of set me back $100.

to give it a drive and see what he thinks. This much cooler weather seems to make it run better too. I just went with the NGK TR55 copper's. If I was making more power, I'd have consdered the Iridiums then but even then $5/plug is insane when I'll change them every 20K mi or so anyway.
Oh yeah...I needed some channel-locks to pull the OE wires from the OE plugs. They were REALLY on there.

I had Taylors, and loved them. When I was attemting the cam change, I pulled all the wires and found this:

It was very brittle. Looks like it just didn't last near the header (passenger side, front). I would have gotten Taylors again, but the shop I went to was out. So I got MSD's which were a PITA to put on the coils compared to the Taylors, but the longer boot for the plugs is better for removal there. Both have good and bad points. Both are great for performance. I would rate them the same. The blue Taylors were pimp though. Now I have red MSD's.

the taylor thundervolts that i bought are black
. i was hoping for something to dress up my engine a bit. hey, for $70 you figure they would throw some color in their wire. anyways, i bought them for the performance. i will let you know what i think of them when i get them put in this weekend. they look pretty heavy duty.
