Default Tanked up with premium..........

Just filled up the truck with premium- a good 20.6 gallons then the CEL light came on, like literally after I tanked up- Chevron. Disconnected the battery with key ON to clear codes- but wanted to check in here while I wait...….
TIA

maybe your gas cap isn't tightened or needs replacing. Have the code scanned if you don't have a scanner

Looking at your signature, not sure what "the" truck is; but:

Amazon Amazon

Much better idea than just resetting the codes and having no clue what's ACTUALLY going on or what the ECM is ACTUALLY pissed off about.

Best $25 you will EVAH spend on your truck(s).

So you are trying to clear the code before you scan it?

Thanks for the quick answers, guys. Laptop was out to lunch so scanning wasn't an option then. Figure that the CEL will come back on if it's an issue greater than reseating the gas cap, I'll scan it then as everything is all charged up now...….

You don't need a laptop with the stuff I linked you to; just your phone. It's BEYOND convenient.

Try it. You'll like it.

you know O'Reilly, AutoZone, & the like will scan them for free & give you a printout of what the codes mean, right?
