I've heard of 304, and 409?, but I've never heard of anyone using T334 stainless pipe for their exhaust system. I bought some 2.5" T334 off ebay a while back with the intention of using it for the eventual true dual system on my truck. The pipes appear pretty heavy duty, and I'm sure they'll work, I'm just wondering if anyone has any input or info on this grade of pipe. The info I've found on Google leads me to believe that it will be fine, I'm just curious if it will have normal harmonics to it, and maybe if it's overkill (the pipes feel fairly heavy, although they are over 6' long). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check out Matweb.com....I used it extensively in college
follow the link to the search page, steel is obviously in the "Ferrous" pull down

Type 334 is a titanium- and aluminum-bearing austenitic stainless steel offering superior elevated temperature scaling resistance compared to the conventional chromium-nickel stainless steels such as Type 304. The oxidation resistance of Type 334 compares favorably with higher alloyed grades up to 1900°F, making it a good candidate alloy for use in emission control systems, and other applications where resistance to elevated temperature degradation is important.

Maybe this will help you.

I had never personally heard of this grade and I work in the steel business, so I had to hunt this down. None of my steel manuals even showed it. Looks to be a superior grade for heat and corrosion resistance. My only concern previously was that it might not be as good to use for bending and fabricating, but I think you should be more than fine. Might be a little overkill but you probably won't ever have to worry about another exhaust system--ever.

Thanks for all the replies and for everyone's research
Guess I'll be good to go if and when I try to mock up my exhaust...if it works out as planned, the T334 pipes that I have won't need to be bent, I should be able to go straight back off an x-pipe into dual 4" round magnaflows tacked together (side by side). If I can't get it to work out, no biggie, at least I gave it a shot
