Not to high jack your thread, but I would be interested in that 6.0 if you do decide to swap. I'm in So Cal too so I could pick it up
Let me know if you go through with it.

gonzo......pm me with the exact price (with shipping), I'll Paypal ya the money next week (Wednesday).....OK ???

parish....I put down 293 rwhp (gtech pro comp) with intake, exhuast and tuning so it's right up there with the 5.7

Slow....(and Chingon) if I do the swap I will part out the motor.......the prices will be reasonable (this IS assuming I do the swap)

To All.....It HAS Iron heads....if I keep the 6.0 I'm replacing them WITH Iron heads....albeit P&P Iron heads with modified exhaust ports...hell, if I do the swap I might STILL swap to the Iron heads on the 5.7 since they have a better chamber and runner design

You are thinking of bolting your iron heads onto an aluminum block??? thats the most backwards setup ive heard in a while. That would defeat the purpose of switching over to an LS1. the only advantage you would get would be the weight reduction. I would just put some aluminum heads on what you have and supercharge it. The aluminums will be better on any high performance app anyways

OOsilverado......I was kinda being sarcastic, everyone around here seems to hate the iron heads so I was just poking a little fun at them.....IF I swap to the LS1 I WILL keep the aluminum LS1 heads.....or swap to aluminum 6.0 heads

for the moment I think I am going to stick with the 6.0 and go witha set of P&P iron heads (they are ALOT cheaper to begin with and the P&P work will help them flow even better than they already do)

yep. the 99's had iron heads which changed in 2000. keep that 6.0! there is no substitute for cubic inches!
