SuperCharger Queries

need some help guys....
I am about 90% ready to get blown, but have a few questions:
i'm leaning towards the Radix, Whipple, or Vortech systems. Will i need to upgrade anything else down the road? Is there anything supercharger companies don't tell us that we need to know for our trucks sake? Which of my current air management mods can I keep and which will i have to discard:
K&N FIPK
Gran. MAS
BBK 80mm t/b
NX Iceman Kit
Also, any advice on which SC is better and any user opinions would help out and can i continue to upgrade my motor after the S/C, for instance new heads, cam, and such internals.
So, basically tell me everything i need to know about SC'ing my 5.3
thanks,
chris

Chris, Welcome to the board!!
K&N FIPK: Can be modified for the Radix, nice mod.
Gran. MAS: Ebay, I Would sell it ASAP!
BBK 80mm t/b: Ebay, No real gains to be had, I found about 7 HP on the dyno with it on my 5.3 with the Radix.
NX Iceman Kit: Ebay
Now to the supercharger....you need to ask yourself what you are looking for out of the supercharger.
1) All out race? Vortech would be good for a big cube race motor.
2) Daily Driven fun some racing? Radix is the only choice
3) Dependability? Radix is the only choice
4) Ease of installation? Radix is the only choice
5) Offer 3/36 mile warranty? Radix is the only choice
6) Customer service that is the best in the industry? Radix is the only choice
7) Complete kit, has EVERYTHING you will need? Radix is the only choice
8) Some room to grow in power and performance? Radix is the only choice
Of the superchargers you have mentioned, the Whipple is a good compressor but it will need some tuning and some additional money to be spent on it. The Kenne Bell is also a good compressor, but the customer service and warranty leave a little to be desired and the kit is lacking a few major items. The Vortech would be a good kit if you are looking for more of a race type of supercharger.
Pricing, well as I am sure you know the Radix will be the highest. What you have to think about is what you are getting with that complete package.
