Default Supercharge or Turbo?

Alrighty, ive read a couple blogs on here about this subject-so let me ask my questions clearly and accurately. I have a 2001 Silverado LS 1500 4x4. its lowered and all that blah blah blah another custom chevy. my goal to create the coolest, most different, and original looking chevy has arrived. the outside is done, next is interior then motor. plan on a turbo 400 for tranny and would like to do a bigger fuel injected motor in my truck. But i cant decide to either do a procharger kit or turbo charged kit. the truck is a weekend warrior. the only thing i tow with it is my speed boat. i want the truck quick and mean on the bottom end and want to be able to outrun people on the top end. money isnt a huge issue considering winter is near and the truck wont be drivin during that period so i have plenty of time to build the motor. i have to have the fastest chevy in the state on the street. but i dont want to have to worry about blowing up my motor. what suggestions does anyone have? will i get more power from a turbo or supercharger kit???

If you want to be the fastest in the state you'll have to do more than slap some FI on it. If it were me, I'd turbo it. And why a turbo 400?

Go turbo and get a built 4L80 instead of the TH400.

What you just said is "....blah blah blah, I want to spend a **** ton of money..."

So, in that case, I could go with a 454 LSX block with 9:1 compression, running a 200shot of nitrous to spool a t6 91mm turbo. And throw in a 3600billet stall and a built 80e and you should be good.

Turbo for sure. It's great to have excellent street manners and a beast when you turn up the boost.

Tarinitup that video was sweet. and smokeshow thanks for that link! it is only a 440 but i think it would still do. i would almost prefer to build the motor from ground up. just how i am i guess. usually build my own motors for our speed boats but never played with EFI so id like to learn itall. but we'll see
