Default super charger

I have a paxton super charger. It is off a mustang. Does anybody know where I can get a kit so that I can put this on my 5.3L. Paxton said that they did not make one and that they could not help me. Please help me!!

short of making your own brackets...I am not sure what you can do.

Too much work IMO..

Make brakets, plumb it, maybe see if an ATI blower/crank pulley will work. Buy injectors, inline fuel pump and get a custom tune. I don't see why it couldn't be done but is it worth it? I can't answer that.

You would need injectors, and a Tune. But if you can get it mounted and plumbed it should work in theory. Since it was designed for a Mustang (I assume 4.6L) You may have to spin it faster to get the same boost on a 5.3L, you would have to figure out what pulley size you would need to spin it at the correct speed. Just the brackets are probably more work than most people can do themselves but, if you got the resources and can determine whether or not the headunit is a good match for the motor it could be done.

My big question is is it worth it. I lifted me truck and I just bought some 315s for it. The little 5.3 just doesn't have the guts to tote those tires. Any suggestions on what to do?

If your just looking to regain the lost power, regearing the axles would be much simpler.

If your set on supercharging. Determine that the head unit will feed the motor at 5-7psi and that there are pullies avaliable to do so. Building the brackets would be the hardest part after that. Plumbing is cake, you need a bypass valve, injectors an inline pump, a FMIC, and a tune. If you have inspections it won't be legal because it isn't a certified kit. Seems like a lot more trouble than it's worth to me.... but at the same time people do harder mods and it would be cool just to be able to say you made it yourself, kind of the core definition of hotrodding, find bastard parts and make somthing out of them.

Paxton makes a kit for Escalades. I don't see why the brackets won't work for your truck.

I know some of them are counterclockwise. I believe our trucks are clockwise. IF that is the case, it may be pretty difficult to get it to work if at all. FYI, the Paxton kit is the same thing as the Vortech.
