sughestions on what to get first
#13
wow looks like tune gonna be first. hmm see i thought that you had to get new lifters if you get an after market cam. something my grandpa told me hes a mechanic thanks for the suggestions

Go with the tune for sure first, then start your other mods.
Old school guys did with solid or hydraulic cams, these new engines are roller cam with hydraulic roller lifters. For a cam swap you will need springs and if you want hardened push rods.

I  mechanics
with 800 i would:
put a 3" hole in the bottom of my factory box (free)
build a new intake tube to go to the factory lid ($15)
throttle body bypass ($3)
vette servo ($17)
longtubes and ORY ($500ish)
tune (275)
this is assuming that you can do all of your own installs. im sure your grandpa can help ya out on this stuff. you aughta get a good kick in the pants if you do all of this at once.
damn i just realized how fast this stuff adds up

Explain this throttle body bypass and what it does performance wise (I know what it is by the name but how do you do it, etc..)

FWIW I lost 2mpg with my 4.10's on 05xcab....it went from 22mpg with 3.23's to 20 mpg with the 4.10s
