jerry, don't expect much on more boost till you get an intercooler on that thing. At 8-9psi your inlet air temps are gonna skyrocket and your gains will pale in comparison to that first 5psi.

I would say methanol can help you alot but I think you'd do much better with an intercooler since you tow that giant trailer.

That's almost exactly what I was getting, cept on hot days I would get to 160deg IATs, especially on the dyno.

With my new IC on 4-5psi I only go up 1-2degs from cruising temps and if I had been sitting too long IATs can actually go down because I am getting airflow on the IC. Even on 13psi I went from 230-240deg IATs to 107deg. This thing is very cool.

Did you modify the fuel system for the boost? From what i understand you can run 5-6psi of boost on a stock LS1 fuel system, so I'm sure our trucks would be OK also.

I feel the injectors are a must for reliability. I bet if you monitor duty cycle on Jeery's truck it is well into the 90s or even 100+. if the truck didn't spend much time at WOT then it wouldn't be so bad but I am just a believer in keeping duty cycle down at least below 90%.

All I did on my system was 42lb injectors and a 255lph pusher pump. So far so good. I'm gonna monitor my duty cycle now that we are getting a solid tune and I'll let you guys know what I find.

How hard is it to tune big injectors like that? My 32#'s were mostly just drop in and go, but 42# is huge.

It seemed pretty simple actually. If you are good with tuning and just go drive around data logging it's a snap. My buddy Rick (Hawk179) did the tuning for me and he had my LTrims near perfect in no time at all. From there there were some tables he changed up but there were no issues at all. Hell gas milage still sat at about 15.5mpg even after the big injectors and cam.

Now mail order tunes on the otherhand may cause problems. Blk6.0HD had issues getting his truck running right with the big cam and 42lb injectors with a mail order tune. They tried numerous times to get it right but he ended up taking the injectors out I think. Nothing against his tuner or anything, I just think some applications are better tuned on the street locally.
