Yup, I kept them just because I felt they would maybe help the turbo spool faster or maybe it was sheer stuborness thinking about how to make N/A power At some point I may switch back just to see if it makes a diff after I smog it next year but who knows.

As for relocating the intake filter, hell yeah! Do one of those snorkle scoops that stick up by your pillar kinda like on those African Safari trucks!

I'm still a bit on the skeptical side. The numbers are good there is no doubt, but the claim that the kit does not need an intercooler becasue it is remote mounted is clearly wrong.

160 Degree IAT???? Intercool that air. Anyway those numbers are impressive and I'm glad to hear they are good to work with. It'll be another year before I get into forced induction, but they are number one on my list right now. I hope they include an intercooler with later kits, or at least make it an option. I'd rather buy things as a complete kit then fab parts up on the side.

Good numbers, I cant wait to see the vids.

Yeah, I don't know what my problem is exactly but a lot of those temps were the fact that the dyno room had one lil tiny fan blowing on the truck and it in no way moved any real air over the intake tubing so that could have been the problem. At regular driving speeds when Rick was doing the street tuning he said IATs were just over 100deg but I wasn't sure if that was at WOT or not. I'll be sure to ask him. Either way I wana do an intercooler since I regualrly see 110-115deg days here in Sacramento and it is a nice safety net IMO.

If they don't offer an intercooler by the time you are ready to do your kit let me know. I am having my intercooler custom made and I could easily have my shop make you one that would bolt right into your kit without too much of a hastle or be too costly.

Ack!

It was just brought to my attention by a friend who has been helping to tune my truck that the IAT sensor is in the MAF on our trucks and not in the Lid like in My T/A. This means that the 160deg temps I was reading were BEFORE the Alky being sprayed! So I am not sure what the actual temps were but I am willing to bet they were not much over 100deg if at all. No wonder I had no knock at 18deg timing. LOL

Not bad numbers. Just FYI, my 5.3 made 511rwhp and 557rwtq at 13psi with no modifications except for exhaust, 421rwhp/501rwtq at 8psi. Had to shut it off on the first pull with the new cam in at 4600 because the 50lb injectors ran out but it was up at 571rwhp at 4600rpm. Never did even bother to put the larger injectors in and strap is back down with the stock bottom since the new motor was just sitting there tempting me to put it in Not to take anything away from your setup, those numbers are going to get that truck down the track in a hurry!

I'm not taking it that way Seth.

Any advice is better than none and listening to someone with your knowledge is in my best interest.

Doing the basic math figure I would be inclined to agree that that's what my setup should be putting out if you figure 20hp/per LB of boost. I don't know exactly why I am not getting that but for a first timne out thing I am still happy that it worked at all. Now I am on the hunt for my missing HP because from the way it seems I am only getting maybe 150-160hp from the turbo. I am at a loose as to if the turbo is too small and that is part of the problem or what. Kinda like 134psi out of a small turbo vs 10psi out of a big turbo = big CFM difference. Do you think a T76 sized turbo is too big for my 5.3L? I am currently uusing the GT35 61mm-68mm?

Air flow is definatly holding you back. With some higher flowing heads and a bigger compressor you'd probibly hit mid 550s at least. Just yank those heads off your T/A and put them on the 5.3. lol
