Default sts+60-65 upgrade

with a sts turbo installed would upgrading my tranny to a 65E be sufficient? And what needs to be done to the engine then to keep it safe? What else would I have to do to the tranny ie. shift kit, tourqe converter. One more thing what would this probably cost for everything? including labor?

A stock 65E? No. You'd need at least a shift kit, and servos. Better yet would be a built 65E from Chuck Johnson.

My setup is getting done as we speak, err, write.

Figure about $6000 installed/tuned (plus or minus) with an upgraded turbo, plugs, injectors, pump (all to keep it "safe"). Then add more if you upgrade the trans (which you will, I'm going to wait until my 4L65 blows up). Also figure more $$ for a shift kit, stall (if you want one)... I added the Methanol kit, another $500. Let's see.... I'll let others chime in.

don't forget about another five hundred for gauges. Five hundred for wide band. With all the goodies you'll goin to be closer to the 8,000 mark.

By using what i already had and stealing the turbo. LOL

Everything else mostly came from eBay. And a cheap welding shop helps.

Still working on the 4-wheeler. I got a call last night from a guy who wanted it without the trailer, but for $2K.
