i have a stock 2001 suburban 1500 LT with 5.3
everythings going wrong (abs hydraulic pump out,P300 code, now driveline wont turn)
I own the truck ,it was gotten used,it has 104000 miles
It is going to shop tomorrow in La Habra Ca. to address the drive train issue.Im unsure of problem and really im just going to pay to have it fixed.
if im going to start to put $ in truck I want something more than stock stuff.
Heres the questions....
I read about gears 410 430 456...
I read about converters 2200 2400 3000...
I read transgo shift kit?
I want something more, the truck is stock, Im starting the repairs(driveline area first)its a daily driver.....
I NEED HELP,INFO
would like effecient POWER

Just came back from OVERBEY TRANSMISSIONS, LA HABRA CA.Scott the owner is super helpful. Says diff is probably gone. Prior to this he said shift kit and gears are good but advised use of electronic programming unit. Says then Im not locked in and can also adjust for different applications.
He now thinks diff is gone so installing gears is on the table. Recommended 4:10 gears with electronic programming unit. Very relieved and also excited about getting something going with truck.
Remember truck is stock. This is my start.First mod!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to PT.net.
The 4.10 gears are a nice upgrade especially if your doing any towing. You might want to look into buying EFI Live or HP Tuners to make adjustments to your tune and transmission shift points. You can also rescale the speedo for the new gears. If you can learn a little of how to make changes, you can save yourself a bunch of money in the long run. Then each time you mod something you can tweak the computer to maximize the mod you just did.
The 5.3l engines respond to mods such as headers, exhaust, cold air intake, cam change and head work. It's not uncommon to see over 100rwhp with these upgrades. There's lots of reading on this forum so you should be able to get up to speed pretty quick.
Good luck,
Richard
