Default stock pipe, aftermarket muffler.

I sold my Ravin' cat back system to my friend for $200 and I got it for free. I have my stock exhaust still and I'm wondering if I can still expect gains from and aftermarket muffler with the existing pipe.

Thanks

yes there will be a gain, I would say nearly as much as a cat back but dont hold me to that.

isn't a single tip'd Cat back the same as the stock? Just with a brand name on it? I would think so. Not much can change right?

Thanks

Stock exhaust size is 2.75". Most aftermarket single cat backs are 3". That alone would give you a little better flow and power. Bear in mind though that even the best catback on our trucks will only yield 5-7 rwhp at best.

ok, wouldn't a smaller pipe provided less flow? Creating more back pressure? Creating more torque? I was also thinking about just picking up another aftermarket cat back system. It would seem to be alot less work then adapting a muffler to my stock system.

Thanks
