stock heads or mill em?
#11
ooo, ive heard of people doing things for heads and having to use different size pushrods and gaskets and stuff. i really want to avoid doing that. like i said, all i really want to do is have a truck that runs consistent 12.5s with a bolt on LQ4

Well i was quoted 350 for a full head job PP, deshround , and a valve job also the machinist would mill them for that price if i wanted. The shop is reputable and a friend from the same town so he said that was a hook up price. So there really isnt alot of work to be done on the 243 heads. When i installed the headers the exhaust ports were very small, to just port match them to my primaries would be alot of restriction gone.
depends on how extensive you want to go. i had my heads milled for like 60 bucks its pretty cheap but to go into the heads and do alot of work is very costly. im not sayin just milling the heads makes more power than ported and polished heads. ment over the stock heads.. just depends on what you want to spend.. mill, port, polish them and you have a hell of a head. from what ive been told theres not a whole lot to unshroud, but thats just what ive heard, never really researched it much.
