Default Stock Dyno, Me and a GT

I went to the dyno today for thew very first time. It was a Dynomite by Dynomax. My truck has 5,000 miles and is all stock. I was a little disappointed with my runs as compared to what I have seen here from other trucks. My truck feels strong, But I was hoping for more.

213.xx rwhp and 256.xx rwtq The shop is gonna e-mail me the graph so I will try to post it later if anyone cares.
My bro-in-law put is 01GT on the dyno right after I did and I felt a little better. He has a Superchip flash chip, air intake,p&p intake plentum,Tremec shifter,70 mm throttle body, Bassanni pipes and 5 speed:

231.xx rwhp and 260.xx rwtq

Allen said that my tune should be here early this week. Then I going back to see what I gain.

does seem a lil low. i thought base 5.3L runs 231rwhp/285flywheel. i think the '99 5.3's were a bit lower and the '04 5.3s are a bit higher.

They do seem low, corrected for a 20% driveline loss the numbers only come out to 266 hp and 320 tq at the crank. The 5.3L is rated at 285 hp and 325 tq, don't know why though!

I can't find any good info about those dynos but, maybe they measure power like the Mustang brand dynos. If so your numbers will be lower than numbers from a Dynojet dyno.

What do stock Mustang GT's usually dyno, doe anyone know?

'01 mustang gt runs maybe 250 at the flywheel. So near 200rwhp. it almost seems like you guys mixed up dyno sheets.

Something else is that the motor only has 5000 miles on it. It'll probably pick up some more power for a few more thousand miles.

Maybe there was a little knock retard also. What type of gas do you use?

I was using 89 from Citgo, Always had good results.

People had told me that this particular dyno seems to show lower #'s, but there are no others around.

01 Mustangs that a saw on mustangforums.com dynoed in the 220-230 range stock(260flywheel) That's why I didn't feel so bad

My old 02 Gt I had dyno'ed out about there. I have the 04 Sierra 5.3 now, and SOTP feeling is much, much stronger on the truck. Maybe its just me though. Torque is DEFINITELY more than the crapstang

Try a few tanks of 92-93 octane in it and see if it feels better. I know I can't run anything less than 93 octane without getting alot of knock retard on stock tuning.

If the dyno reads a little low and you had a little knock retard that would account for your numbers.
