FWIW, I still have not been able to solve that problem with mine either. But I haven't really messed with it since before the spring break shootout either, and I also have the PCMCIA card.

Hey Matt,
The 3 blinking lights are good - on the side closest to the PC. That means the Edit converter box is getting power from the PCM (first light) and that the comms are detected (next lights). I have heard that the light closest to the PCM means the data bus is busy... not sure on that one.
Normally I do the following:
disconnect PCM harness, connect bench cable, connect clips to battery, turn on switch in cable, wait 30+ seconds, connect cable to PC and start up ls1prog, connect OBDII connector to PCM (here I get the 3 lights), select a file name for read or flash, start read/flash.
Are you using a bench cable or the under-dash connector?

when i wiped my laptop and reloaded a fresh os with no bs programs on it, mine would'nt work either. somehow it assigned the wrong comm port as the default. if you have'nt already go in to system and see if the right port # is assigned. also see if it says there is sharing conflict. just a shot.
