My starter went out today. Its just clicking so Im pretty sure the solenoid is gone. I own and race a few cars and taking off a starter is a simple task. Not with this truck. Its a 2000 silverado 1500 5.3 and I can get it back about an inch and it gets stuck. I can move it up about an inch and it gets stuck. How the hell do you get this thing off? I unbolted the plastic inspection cover. Any tips would really be useful. I'm about to start a new job where I'll be driving about 500 miles a day or more and need this truck. It only has about 89000 miles on it.
