Default stall w/no cam

thinking of installing a 2600 stall before the tranny goes in, but I wont have a cam for the motor for a while...wondering if that would advisable

I say go for it, but get the TT3000 stall. I've had mine in since right around X-mas and it knocked a good solid 4 tenths off my ET. Once you get used to driving and launching the truck with a stall, you'll love it. I hardly even notice that there is a stall in the truck most of the time. The cam can always come later. One really doesn't have anything to do with the other, unless you were installing a big cam first which didn't make power down low, then you would want to do the stall at the same time or before the cam.

The first time I drove a TT2600 was in an escalade with stock cam. My initial thoughts were "GM should have put this converter in stock". It felt great.

If you want more agressive go 3000. If you want the daily driver feel, go 2600.

You're gonna be fine doing a stall before cam...the torque peak is around 4000-4400rpms in a stock truck and a cam is just going to shift that higher and add topend HP.

So... yes go for it!

Much improved daily driving, these stalls are pretty mild for these trucks...the TT2600/3000 that is. Your city MPG may drop some due to the slightly higher RPMs but it's all in how you drive.
