Ive got a 2200 stall in my '84 (built 350/700R4 33's) and I think its great for the FL sand. I was going to go with a 2400 when I put in my new trans but I think it would be just to much offroad(big stall is good for sand/mud drags though if you have alot of traction like paddles)
also rember If you have a motor that pulls good in the higher RPM a stall is more then just help off the line.

Never driven in the sand but Ive heard that a stall was good for the ice and snow. I think its because u can roll into the throtle and it acts like slipping the clutch to get momentum (in my old Chevelle on ice as soon as it was put in drive the tires would spin and a stall might have cured this). Drag racing in the sand?
