SS muffler/tailpipe not up to the challenge
#1
Took off my 8.1 HD muffler and tailpipe to try a SS muffler and tailpipe. The truck sounded the same while driving but has a more tone for the neighbors standing near by.The SS muffler has been on about 2 weeks and runs every bit as good as it always had.Yesterday i strapped on the car trailer, loaded it up and ventured over the mountain pass i have towed over dozens of times. It felt sluggish and laboring, used more throttle and the only difference since the last tow was the muffler.I will be bolting back on the HD system for the next trip.Luckly both systems are flanged for easy interchange.

I was thinking today how many mufflers i have had on this truck,No way near as many as you have.My first mod when my truck was new ,was a 1 week old dynomax cat back bought on ebay for $125.then a original PV and magnaflow going from there atleast 6 different ones maybe 7,a couple may have gone on twice. So about 1/3 as many as you Y2K

I remember he was talking about it.He doesnt like systems he can remove and reinstall himself. So for that his muffler guy is going for early retirement.
