His post is 3.5 years old; if he's been hammering a 5.7 Vortec around to hear his loud muffler, it's probably not running anymore.. I mean.. he hasn't been back since :/

I have long tube headers, no cats, with 2.5 inch pipe going to two 9000's out the back. Since its going out the back its not loud in the cab, some rasp but not horrible. My only complaint is since I have a manual it pops/backfires a ton on letting off the gas or shifting gears. The exhaust is too free flowing more than likely. May put resonator or high flows cats to help. Already tried to tune it out. But I like the 9000's.

Dont want to hijack thread but since we are subject of exhaust, anyone know how I can stop the popping/backfire of my exhaust? So many threads out there on it but people have just tuned it out mainly with DFCO.

On the truck in your sig? If so, my personal opinion is that your exhaust is too small. Needs to breathe more.

Really?? Yea it’s the truck in the signature, I figured it was too free flowing. I am only running 400hp with 1 7/8 headers and 2.5 inch pipe. Usually don’t run something like this until your bigger cubes or boost I thought.
