Default Specific header/exhaust question

I am going to put some headers on my truck. I am between the OBX, Pacesetters, ASMs, and ARHs. My truck being a 6.0 has dual 3 inch into the muffle so I will not need the Y pipe. The OBX while nice seem to make spark plug access difficult, and the fitment issues also are there. The Pacesetters are nice and proven time and time again, but I like the way the OBX connect to the rest of the exhaust. I can have an exhaust made from the headers to the muffler and it won't be an issue. The ARHs are nice but kind of pricey, and they aren't as proven. I do want to run no cats so the Dynatechs are a no go. Anyway anyone with feedback feel free to give is.

The rest of the exhaust I am thinking will be a dual 3 inch inlet and single 4 inch outlet muffler and Magnaflow Duramax tail section. Unless there is a huge benefit from running 2 1/2 inch dual exhaust with an X and dual mufflers, or a single muffler with the X in the case. I have searched and it seems to be prefernce. I just don't want a nasty drone, right now I have a dual 3 inch inlet single 3 inch outlet Magnaflow with a Corsa resonator with Gibson shorty headers. .

This is just my opinion... I would get the pacesetter in the painted version.. Add some GOOD flanges or Vbands (That is what i did), mock up the rest of your exhaust, then send the headersout to to be ceramic coated inside and out (rest of the pipes are optional)... Basically that is exactly what i did, but with AEM headers... i can grab my headers about 20-30min after running them, before they took hours to cool down..

That is good advise. Run an X pipe if you are going to run dual 3".

See I don't want to spend 500 for some headers and then have to use zip ties to keep my plug wires off the headers. If I do go with a dual setup up it will either have 2 mufflers and an X pipe, or have 1 muffler with the X in it. Like a Magnaflow, I want something that will sound good, and have 0 drone. Would the dual mufflers and X be better for flow and sound, if so what size pipe? Or would dual 3 inch into a single 4 inch outlet muffler be enough for flow? Or should I get the ORY and run a single 3 inch into a SI/SO muffler? My only problem with that is that Chevy made it with 2 3 inch pipes to the muffler, there had to be a reason. I will seriously consider sending the headers off and having them coated but I would much rather have them ready to go on as soon as I get them. Is the coating they come with garbage?

I don't know how extensively your 6.0 is modded, but I'm going back to 2.5" pipe. 3" is just too big. 2.5" is better for daily driving, 3" is better for wide open.

Dart 225 heads, 10.8 CR, 220/226 cam .600+ lift 112LSA , TBSS intake throttle body and injectors. Aside from that the truck will have a small stall in it like 2500-2800 and I might put a 100 shot on it at some point
