Default SPE Pro-flash with cooler t-stat

I just got in a pro-flash and i was going to do the bb mod to my t-stat. I talked to the tech at SPE and he said it might hurt my power by running a cooler thermostat b/c the programmer is tuned for the stock one. So I guess what I'm wondering is:

Is anybody running a cooler t-stat with a pro-flash?
or without programming at all for that matter?

I'm not familiar with the pro-flash but I really don't know how it would hurt any tuning. From what I understand, a cooler cumbustion chamber/engine is always good for performance.
