Not sure how to make the intake louder...but I guess you could make the exhaust quieter. Or maybe you're just used to it? The first bolt on I did to this truck was a K&N CAI, a few days prior to doing shorties and a cat-back, and I remember thinking "wow, this is so much louder than the factory intake!" I'm guessing that those 40 series flows are making the most noise, drowning out the intake?

Well, This what I did. My friend kept telling me that my Intake sounded Badass..
All I could hear is my exhaust. Then I stood infront of my truck and pulled my throttle cable real fast. It's a big suck/whoosh sound. Now if I floor it, I always notice it.

Well alls I got a is muffler for my exhaust but the 40 series is a loud muffler so it probably does drown out the sound of the intake. Allthough at WOT I do hear motor in front of me..

I don't like it.. I guess the base is alright but outside in town.. you know the havelock, new bern, morehead city. This whole area just sucks. You gotta drive like 30-100 miles just to find anything decent. Not good for us truck guys.

Marines get bored and get in super amounts of trouble. I had one buddy get kicked out for lighting a car on fire when he was drunk. And another buddy awaiting his discharge for breaking into a house. On another note.. I don't like the wing. I'm going ground as soon as possible. Hopefully they let me leave the wing. If not I'll just go aircrew. Be a door gunner on a 46...or an Osprey the re-enlistment bonus for osprey's is huge right now I heard.

What's your MOS? Rank?

[edit] I just relized you said airframes school so I'm assuming your airframes... haha

Lighting a car on fire and breaking into houses???? WTF....... You guys must be bored. Sound s like they need hobbies. They need to go buy some trucks, mod them, and take it out on the track.......

Yeah, I'm an Airframer on KC-130's, I'm a Sgt. I really like working on the 130's, but you are right Marines seems to get in a good bit of trouble there. Wish I could get a bonus, I was a Nasty Reservist from 1998 when I checked into the squadron here until Jan 2002 when I got activated to go to the sand box. So, in 2004 after getting extended for the third time, and the MOS got stop lossed again I went Active Reserve. Now I'm a CDQAR for the shop and I really like it.

What do you do and what rank are you? How long you been stationed there?

I'm a LCPL I'm 900div (gse) and I been here for 2 years. DId a 7 months tour in the sandbox during that 2 years.

I have absolutly no motivation to get my cdi package in. Even though I get yelled at on a constant basis by my nco's to get licenses and cdi'd. it sucks to say but I kinda just gaff 'em off by not getting 'em. Cause like I said previously I seriously plan on lat moving very very soon. Gonna talk to the career planner next week.

Ya we get bored here.. I picked up a couple hobbies bodybuilding and trucks/cars. I also found a couple buddies that like myself are mature (we're all 21-25 y/o.) Unlike those two guys that got in trouble they were only 19 and the other 20. One of 'em got busted 3 tiems within a year for ari's. The first one being underage offense. the second one he fell off 2nd deck at the brks and our sqdrn gunny made him wash all the aircraft on the flight line and now he breaks into a housee.. sgt maj is pushin for discharge now.

you plan on going career?

You should talk with your career planner and see what options you have for sure. I know and have known plenty Marines who have been in your situation. Don't get sucked into the path those other two are on. The Command will take care of them and it's better for the Corps. You need to find a MOS that you like and can relate with. Remember every MOS or even civilian job you will have people like that. Glad to hear you have other Devil Dogs you can hang with and relate to. Becoming a CDI for your Unit will be a great learning experience for you, and it's always cool to have someone that out ranks you turning wrenches because you are the CDI. I became a CDI for that reason, I was a Cpl CDI and had a few Non-CDI Sgt's I could tell what to do as far as working on the aircraft. Now as a Sgt CDQAR it's even better. I don't plan for career doing this, but I'll make the best of it for now. I've had several guys I came up with get out and wish they were still in.

What kind of GSE work do you do?

Cool, I have used pretty much all that stuff minus the sat loader. Is the C-17 the newer style big air conditioning unit? If so I have used that, but I'm not liscensed for it! That thing is a must have during WTI in Sunny Yuma, AZ.

we used them ALOTTTTTTT out in iraq when the temps got into the lower 140's high 130's. It felt like your face was on fire when you walked outside.
