...or expensive ones, anyway. I am thinking about pulling the Radix and swapping it out for a pair of small turbos. Get some good dished pistons to drop my CR back to around 9.5:1, run a Z06 cam with LS6 springs and stock rockers, sell all the extra crap, buy a pair of decent-sized turbos that would spool quickly. Truck is big and heavy, and still needs to have good street manners, still needs to tow and be able to go off-road.

Questions:

1. How much boost can I safely run on a 9.5:1 6.0L with 91 octane?
2. How much boost can a stock manifold take?
3. Would a truck or car manifold be better suited?
4. Any benefit to running a 90mm TB when it's set up in a blow-through manner rather than a draw-through?
5. What size turbos would work well that would spool quickly and get me to the max amount of boost that I can safely run?
6. Make custom manifolds or flip the stock manifolds and run them towards the front?
7. What kind of heat shields need to be made?

I am not looking for reasons why I should or shouldn't do the swap, just trying to gather information at this point, so please keep the answers focused. Let's hear what you got to say....

I read recently that flipped exhaust manifolds from a new 5.3 impala ss will work on the trucks for custom turbo stuff. pontiac equivelant should work to.
easier that making em unless you are inclined.
I don't think that flipping the truck exh manifolds works but I could be wrong.

truck manifolds seem to be the perference for the fbody crew and should work as well on the trucks. a 90 setup would be best, and your better off with a LQ4 block and make money off the LQ9

I know for a fact that you can run up to 16# on a 9.5:1 compression...just need a healthy dose of meth and very good tuning. HOWEVER, the LS6 springs will not hold your valves shut at that boost...you'll need something with ALOT more seat pressure.

I'm looking for a number that I don't need meth to run. I will end up using meth but I want to be able to run without it if necessary.

I'm talking about swapping to some good aftermarket dished pistons to get me back down to 9.5. That way I'll be able to keep the beefier LQ9 rods.

I'll look into that. The only reason I mentioned flipping the truck manifolds is that the f-body guys seems to like doing it, and I figured that if they can get away with it I could too.
