pistons are the weak link in the motor #7 in particular due to poor flowing intak manifold

the order i would do them is mailorder tune( will get better mileage), gears( makes the trans not have to work so hard)/rear lsd, stall, catback exhaust, LT headers and ORY( offroad y pipe) cold air intake, efans, built trans, cam/springs/pushrods w/ custom dyno tune or tuning software, underdrive pulleys, 100shot n20 w/ all bells and whistles, then some more tuning
I dunno, mine took a good *** kicking and looked fine 35k later. It was behind a ~385hp engine with no torque management with no gear to help it, big tires, 4x4, etc cab etc.

They aren't going to hold a TT 408, but they aren't made of glass. I just got mine built up. Trans guy said to keep it under 550hp a the crank. He built one for my camaro and it was just fine with ~450+hp. That was 60 though, this is a 65. Either way, I doubt I'll come near that number.

i going by what ive seen others experience on this site

a 60e will hold up to more power in a car than it will a truck because of the weight difference

I know my 60 with an HD2 and servos lasted all of a month after getting a custom tune and smaller pully. That was with only 15% tq management taken out. Yes with the 80 It fell on its *** coming off of the line, but a gear swap and converter fixed that. I have beat the crap out of my 80 with no problems, and plan to beat the crap out of it even more! In my opinion spend the money once

So in the 2002 Sierra with the factory 4L60E how much torque management should I safely remove to keep from tearing it up? Definately don't want to do that, it's my girlfriends truck and she would be pissed...

Is a 4L80E swap an easy one?

Buy an 07 silverado... the NBS. I think it's pimp! (though some don't think so, they will come around).
