Smog legal headers????

Thorley's are CARB approved also. However, it was mentioned about a year ago that you had to have 60000+ miles on the ODO before any header was legal...! You might check into that before investing the time and money.

I have never heard of haveing to have 60k on a car or truck before headders were leagle. thats ****** funny.

It has something to do with the smog system warranty. It has to be expired before anything can be legally changed. I have never heard of it for gas motors. But I have friend who wants to swap a 2003 duramax/allison into his 2002 8.1L 2500HD, he has the whole setup ready and is going to do the swap since he lives in an unmonitored area of the state, but legally he can't do it until 2010, because the smog ref told him the 7 year warranty on the smog equipment has to be expired first, so for him it just means he can't sell the truck until 2010. This whole CARB thing is a crock sh*t if you ask me.
