Slower than I should be..

Ok, I have gone to the track twice now with the new Yank converter and once without it.
My times without it on my 32" 10ply tires were 15.90s@88 (2.3 60's)(pretty normal 80deg temps)
My times with the Yank on same tires 16.1s@84mph (VERY bad DA)
My times with Yank and stock 265/75/16s 15.4-15.6@87mph (80deg temps) and 2.1-2.2 60's
Now, my question is, how is it that I could run consitant 15.3-15.4s on stock tires (on my G-Tech, and no Yank last fall yet now with the Yank I still am nowhere near 14s in this truck.
Before I hear any G-Tech comments keep in mind that my G-Tech is tracking all of these times JUST like the track is. Each time I go to the track I make a few runs with the G-Tech on a super flat road and I always hit within 1-2 tenths of what i do at the track. It is like I mysteriously lost 5 10ths of a second somehwere since fall, but before I installed the Yank.
My mods are: Muffler, stock modified airbox, NGK TR55s, new fuel filter, Yank TT3000, Transgo shiftkit, HPP3 (+4, +12). The truck weighs about 5000lbs with me in it.

That really sucks! Hows the truck feel? Any bogging, hesitation, or engine response issues?
Just asking since theres something going on. Lets look at the changes you made since your best times. You got a torque converter.
Maybe something is wrong with the TC install that you are unaware of?!
What settings do you have on your HPP3? Maybe these settings are not working well with your new TC?
Is your tranny having problems dealing with the new TC? Slippage occuring?
Just trying to come up with some possible causes of your quarter mile issues.

Thx for the reply.
Actually I noticed my stock times were way worse about 4 months after putting on the new bigger/heavier tires. I thought the tires were the culprit for sure so I was gonna swap them back to stock. In the mean time I did the TC and tried it again and still ran really bad (16.0) so I put the stock tires back on and got some cooler temps and went .5sec faster. Now the wierd thing is when I launch I have to do it in 4wh hi because even in auto 4wh I will still spin enough to hurt 60'. But somewhere out past the 60' mark the truck feels really odd, kinda like it is struggling. I dont know how else to explain it, almost like something is pushing against it.

Man, I am in the same boat you are. I just installed my yank3000 about a month ago and have had very bad results at the track. I lost 3mph and gained about .3 with no inprovement in 60'.
Sometimes it feels good but others it just feels like it is slipping. I am also wondering if it is the tranny. I have already been thru one without the converter. This one only has about 8000 miles on it.
Let me ask you this, Did you install the converter yourself? Did the insides clank around when you took it out of the box? Just wondering if this was normal or if Yank may have sent out a bad batch of converters?

Sounds like it could definitely be the tranny, at least for F8lPONY, same probably for BigKID.
F8lPONY hows the conditon of your fuel system and spark plugs? How many miles are on your truck?
That sucks about your LOSSES in performance BigKID. I was planning to get a yank converter, maybe now I shouldnt?

I had a local F-body performace shop install it but I was there the whole time and everything looked good. i have had 3 diff. converters in my T/A and this install was no different. But that doesnt mean that the TC itself might not be right.
One other thing I was thinking is that I might have overground the bump stop on my TB. If I twist it by hand I see too much voltage but I never get an SES light so I thought it was ok. But I do notice that I seem to take off faster when I give it 3/4 throttle than when I go 100% throttle. Kinda like a bad bog. Or could this be due to TQ managment also? I didnt think so because it usually only effects shifts but wasnt sure in trucks.
My truck has 48k miles on it but had 43k when I was still running good times.
I think I am going to fix my TB then try again, and get LS1 Edit as soon as I can afford it.
I hope it's not my trans....

It's probably the difference in tempetures and humidity you absolutely would not believe the horsepower difference between a 45 degree early spring night at the track and 85-90 degrees with high humidity.I've seen .5-1 full second differences,a 12.8 can become a 13.6 with the high heat and humidity and no other changes.
