I am having a problem with my drivetrain. I am pretty sure it is not in the transmission but I am not positive. When coming off the line or when I go to WOT at 60mph and the truck shifts into second I hear a funny noise and get a bit of lag somewhere. I am unsure what could be causing this. It only lags for a second and I hear a wierd sort of honking type noise coming from the back. Has anyone here had this problem before? Any input would be appreciated.

not sure about the honking thing but the shifts on these things suck, Torque management and a slow shift make it seem like there is some sliping going on but i think it is "normal"

TM(torque management) is something that gm came up with to add to the life of the tranny, the computer can pull your timing all the way back to -10deg on the shifts if it wants to, i have heard the new trucks can even pull fuel but i am not sure about that.

yeah f*ck GM and their stupid ideas. if we wanna roast our drivetrains let us! oh well at least we're still faster than fords and dodges.

 

I don't think this noise is supposed to be there. It just started about 2000 miles ago. I crawled under the truck last night and can not seem to see and lube inside the rearend. I just went to the dealer and got the synthetic lube and a tube of the GM Locking differential additive. I am going to go dump it and put in fresh. Maybe I will squirt a tube of KY in for good measure.
